Winallegro meaning the old Winallegro? Or do you mean
Allegro 3.9.30, which has  integrated support for DirectX?

Don't use the old Winallegro.
Use the latest Allegro WIP (version 3.9.30); it just works better.

Have you *tried* writing a C++ program that calls
Allegro functions?
If so, what errors did the compiler give you?
