Why dont you try  using gcc.exe instead of using gxx.exe.
Example:   gcc myfile.cxx -o myfile.exe 
gcc.exe is what I allways use for my both C and C++  programs. 
It will detect whether the file needs the C or C++ compiler and will invoke the
appropriate one.
