hi! I have some small questions

small question: how do I set/get colors/palette in vesa mode(I use allegro, of
course)? (screen: 1024 * 768, BPP == 16)

another question:
in the allegro examples there are some undocumented functions, like
_dos_ds()(although this one is fairly obvious) and others. is there anywhere i
can get the descriptions of these functions?

yet another question:
is it even remotely possible to cause a hardware failure in your screen by
playing around with the allegro screen modes? I did, and my screen is behaving
very funny. sometimes it won't start until third attempt, and it seem to be
constantly re-dimensioning itself(that is, it changes the size and properties
of the wiew window?
