Well I have an HND in Software Engineering and should very shortly have a
degree as well.

I have done commercial programming before (not games) with my HND.  I am
currently at finishing off my degree.  I have an interview at a games
software company next week. :-)

I would say that Software Engineering is a good subject because it caters
for most of the wide spectrum of the software industry and is biased towards
coding.  But saying that if there was such as thing as a Games Programming
degree I would do that instead!
