This URL will also give you some specific installation instructions for Windows 98, which are almost certainly missing from the CD you have, because it's an old, pre-Windows 98 version. It is impossible to help you without knowing what specific problems did you experience, except saying that ``it works for everybody else'', including Windows 9X, which hardly helps. Many ``popular'' problems are already discussed in the DJGPP FAQ list (get the file faq211b.zip from the zip-picker URL above), so it might help reading its first chapters.
