Please could you help me

I went into www.delorie.com
And then went into the following web site
http://www.delorie.com/djgpp/zip-picker.html

I downloaded the compiler but I have a few problems.
When i type compile in DOS it comes up with
gcc sample.c updater.o graflib.o -lm -lpc -O2 -osample.exe
Then after approximately 10 seconds it says

Fatal:    Error in DJGPP instalation
     Environment variable DJGPP is not defined

Please could you tell me if you have seen this problem before and how it
should be solved.
