Are you using the examples as copied from the disk? There is something about that book, but I can't quite remember what it is. I think he uses a batch file to set things up, and it isn't quite right for djgpp. What file can't the compiler find? By the above, I don't mean it is a bad book, there is just some little quirk that has come up in the past. You might look in the djgpp archives, and search on 'experimenting' within the past year.
