Now I work DOS only with a 486dx2 with Windows 3.11 installed. Now LFN's used. I want to use a machine I have access to--a Pentium with Windows 95, soon to be 96 installed. There I want to work DOS only for DJGPP work and no LFN's (if I can). As far as programming goes I have no interest in Windows of any kind and see no point in long file names, but I will comply if I have to. Unfortunately it looks like I will have to move up to Microsoft's Windows 95, 96, 97, 98, 99, 1900, 1901 and on and on. Ralph
