Oh sh*t !!! Aaarghh! I had an old version of GCC 2.8.1 !!!
The answer is: yes! with gcc 2.8.1 22 Oct 1998 all works fine.
Excuse me for all this mess BUT the problem is that the file on the
ftp-server has the same name and only the update date is different... so it
may cause problems like this... why don't you change also the version num
(like 2.8.1.1 or 2.8.1a or 2.8.1plX (patch-levelX) etc) when you re-update
a fixed version of a package ? It would help A LOT users keep their
compiler updated and would evitate errors like mine ;)

Excuse me again people ;) It was my fault ;-)

PS:
I have another question: ar can merge two libs (foo.a and foo2.a) togheter
? If yes, how ? I can't understand how... ;))
