Hi,

I heard somewhere that if you keep you data in longs it actually runs
faster, so if you are worried about speed and new memory usage then
you must keep your data in longs. 

Is this true of:
a) A 16 bit program? (Pacific C)
b) A 32 bit program? (DJGPP (gcc))
c) Does this make a difference?

The same article stated that an
unsigned variable :3;
was about 50% precent slower than a standard int
(4 bytes, 32 bits) and about 200% slower than a long. Please will some
one tell me if this is possible.
