In particular, see Tim Bird's message sent on 11 Sep 1998 with
subject "Re: [AL] Allegro & Linux", which gives information
about the port's completeness, and details of a mailing list
you can join.  I too am interested in this, because I'll
probably go back to using Linux in about a month's time when I
have a proper Internet connection again.

Incidentally, I found that Allegro and djgpp work very well 
through Linux's dosemu.  Performance was comparable to 
performance under Windows.  Of course you could instead dual 
boot Linux with DR-DOS or some other DOS and do your DOS 
programming there.

I think that's the idea of the Linux port of Allegro, yes.  
Since both Linux and djgpp use gcc there shouldn't be too much 
trouble porting, provided you program in a portable manner.
