	It would help if you gave an actual example of what you tried.  But, I'll
guess that you tried this:
set path C:\djgpp\bin;%PATH%
When you SHOULD have put:
set PATH=C:\djgpp\bin;%PATH%

	Case does matter, and the '=' is required WITHOUT any spaces.
