Message-Id: <35C5AD6E.168F9563@lps.u-psud.fr> Date: Mon, 03 Aug 1998 10:30:38 -0200 From: taupin Mime-Version: 1.0 To: DJGPP List Subject: Long file names Content-Type: text/plain; charset=iso-8859-1 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit Precedence: bulk After many tests, I found out that dgjpp work without major problems on native DOS (some memory limitations), perrefly in the DOS window of Win3.11, in the DOS window of Win95 (provided that one extends to 65565 the DPMI size) and on the DOS window of WinNT4 (not tested huge memory requirement). However it has a drawback: it is unable to recognise long file names. Question: is there a patch or something else so that djgpp is able to open/create file of long file names under Win95/NT? Of course I would lime something compatible with basic DOS, sa that the same compiler could be used and the same executables (in case of 8+3 files names)? Important: reply [also] to me directly, I'm not presently on the list. Thanks. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Daniel Taupin, Physique des Solides, Univ.
