I did not have EMACS in mind, I only put that in as an example of something
that works good.

What I had in mind was the comments I find throughout the docs about djgpp
appications--compilers, debuggers and so on. I really have no desire to
program from Windows with the exception being that I will use EMACS as an
editor and info finder from Windows on occasion. It really was a somewhat
"technical" concern Now I am worried that if I port my things over to my
daughters new Win 95 system that I NEVER will have access to true DOS as I
do on my 486..

This I like very much. I will be using EMACS from Windows at times.
