Thanks.  I tried this, and it generally works, but has a few problems:

  1) The generated Texinfo file seem to be fragile and very sensitive
     to the exact format of the Interrupt List.  For example, I tried
     it with release 55 of the Interrupt List, which caused two
     problems:

        - the file I2C.LST was missing (I solved it by creating ab
          empty file by that name);
        - the produced file had several nodes without a name, and
          several other nodes with the same name "#)"

     Since the Interrupt List is an evolving product, I think the
     converter should be made more robust to changes in both format
     and contents of the distribution.  In particular, missing files
     shouldn't trigger fatal errors, they should just cause the
     corresponding chapter be omitted, with a suitable warning.  (It
     is very frustrating to get such a fatal error after some 15
     minutes of run time.)

  2) It would be nice if the docs would say something about those
     funny numbers, dots and dashes which are printed while the
     program runs.  I can guess what they mean, but it would be nice
     to just *know*.
