Set LFN=y in the environment, then run Emacs and see if it works.  If it 
does, insert a line like this in your AUTOEXEC.BAT:

		set LFN=y

and reboot.

FYI, this is explained in the file emacs.README that's available right 
near the em1934*.zip files, and also in the README.dos file inside 
em1934b.zip, in the section with the obscure name "Troubleshooting".
