hmmm.... I compiled Allegro3 on a 486 w/ 20 megs of ram in about an hour and
forty-five minutes....

Check your CONVENTIONAL MEMORY.... by typing mem at the dos prompt.... if it's
pretty low (under 500) .. try this....

Restart the computer in dos mode.... and if you have MEMMAKER ... type it
in.... each time you're prompted to reboot - do so
 
   - but don't let it restart win95.... ( hit the F8 key when it says:
starting windows 95...     - and you'll get a menu.... pick command prompt
only...)

I'm not sure... but I think it's your available conventional memory that's
giving you the problem....
