What do you mean with "getting g++ to compile"? Do you want to compile g++ itself or do you want to compile with g++? And here the next questions before we can give definite answers: 1) What a version of gcc you are using? 2) If it is gcc 2.8.0 have you deinstalled first gcc 2.7.x? 3) If it is gcc 2.7.x are you using the -frtti flag? As you can see, you should give us as most as possible details because we cannot guess what exactly you did.
