When I need to do the same, these are the pass that I take (excuse my
english):

1. 'Run / Step over (No display swap)  Shift+F8'
2. When I want to follow any action of my program I press
   'UserScreen Alt+F5'
3. Repeat the pass until the program it's over.

I hope this could be exactly what you want.
