In response to Nate's question about the legal statement appended to my 
recent posts, it is added automatiaclly at our corporate firewall.  This 
practice was just started several weeks ago, with no notification to the 
users that it was happening.

As may be suspected, this not is legalese required by corporate counsel.

I think the implication is similar to legal notice often put of faxes - 
namely that if it gets sent to the wrong number, the recipient is supposed 
to pretend he didn't get it.  I have no idea how this would stand up 
legally, and I don't know many people (any?) who would pay for the phone 
call (or take the time) to return a fax they got in error (misdialed phone 
number, for example.)

In any case, when I send to a mailing list - that list is my intended 
addressee, so I don't think there is any problem, just confusion. :-)  I 
suppose I should start using a .sig which states that more explicitly.  I'm 
also not sure what happens when I post to usenet (which is how I more 
commonly read this list)
