you'll find source code for accessing the Windows registry. 

It seems to be fairly compatible with Symantec (all memory models,
inc. protected mode), Watcom (all memory models, inc. protected mode),
Borland (all memory models), DJGPP, and even (yep, you guessed it)
Pacific C (large model only).
