People who have difficulties understanding the relations between pointers
and arrays can take a look at Ted Jensen's 
"A Tutorial on Pointers and Arrays in C" 
which is available as a plain text file from various places on the net. 
I have no URLs vailable now, but you may ask your nearest search engine.

Some time ago I have formatted and printed this tutorial for our students. 
The formatted version is available as a postscript file (size A4, about 40 pages)

And yes, the programs discussed in the tutorial can be downloaded from the
