Set the screen mode in allegro to the same resolution as you're using in
windows.  Probably 640x480 or 800x600.  Just:
set_gfx_mode(GFX_AUTODETECT, 800, 600, 0, 0);
or
set_gfx_mode(GFX_AUTODETECT, 640, 480, 0, 0);
