And Michael, beware of RHIDE when it comes to signals()... I have some code that raises SIG_TIMER when an external device does not answer. Within RHIDE, the program gets stopped and RHIDE barbles something of SIGSEGV (most times...) while not under debugger control, it works just as expected. I'm not sure if this is due to RHIDE or the underÀlying gdb, and Robert was neither.
