It starts typing in the wrong place. I know this is a strange sequence of keypresses to make it happen, but it occurs due to many other things: mostly it seems when you put a space at the end of a line, move somewhere else, come back and type again. As I mentioned before, it also happens occasionally when you go past the end of the screen. It also seems to appear around brackets. I have Intelligent C Indent turned OFF, so it is not a side effect of this. It isn't really a major problem, just an annoyance, and I'm at least hoping someone else can reproduce it to prove I am still sane.
