Yes, change in makefile:
CFLAGS = -g
to
CFLAGS = -O2

It might also work when you wrote "-g1" instead of "-g" but I haven't
verified this.

I don't think this problem exists with stabs debugging format, but since
you've first to build a compiler to support this...
