Any bright ideas? oh shoot! sorry i used the term "narrowminded". i didn't mean it to be a critical post at all. yes, you've got oodles of stuff in there that i'll NEVER use (joyhat??!!), but you seem to have hit on a nice logical way of coding the stuff i will use, besides handling the strange stuff appropriate to the different video cards (everybody i code for has a different card!!). i'm addressing this to Shawn, but i hope all you other folks that contributed to Allegro will also accept a portion of my appreciation. thank you! phil
