in fact that is precisely why basic questions regarding the language 
should be taken elsewhere ... but of course first the poster needs to be 
able to say "In C, how do you..." or "In C++, how do you..."

for anyone out there, _get_ the C and C++ FAQs, and read them. also, make 
a habit of perusing, if only to read,

comp.lang.c.moderated
comp.lang.c++.moderated

and maybe comp.lang.c but that place is "Nutts".
