Obviously, Microsoft did not let CHKDSK offer you the choice even if that choice is there. However, my own workaround-- which is borrowing the CHKDSK program from Novell Dos or Opendos, does the job without frustrating you and without asking questions. I have the impression that Scandisk is really Novell's CHKDSK in drag, and with hostility to anything but Microsoft thrown in.
