Ever occur to you that the modem wasn't connected to the ISP in the first place? I use Netscape all the time when NOT connected. I have about 100 megs of local HTML documents and I use Netscape as the browser most of the time. Also we were talking about the Netscape gold editor. It doesn't say anywhere in the doc's that you MUST be connected to the Net or the editor will crash. I've never edited an HTML document online, that would be truly insane.
