The error message is printed because your as.exe is from v1.x, not v2.0. Even if you would install as.exe from v2gnu/bnu252b.zip, the message will not appear. Only as.exe from v1gnu/bnu252bn.zip (note the subtle differences in the directory and zip file names!) will cause the error to appear. Chapter 4 of the FAQ mentions v2gnu/bnu252b.zip. > The lesson I have learned is 'always go for latest':) This lesson is correct.
