Actually, the gateway runs every 15 minutes to handle new news
articles, and the other way happens right when the mail gets
delivered.  The gateway is first on the mailing list, so it happens
pretty quickly in both directions.

The slowdown is, I think, due to the propogation time of my ISP's news
feed itself, which I can do little about.  I don't think its so bad
that I need to find a new ISP, though.
