It certainly comes in handy. This is true, but I wonder just "how true". Right now, I have set myself an interesting goal of writing a 3D space flight sim in all C++. I am a proficient ASM coder, (a little limited in terms of pmode stuff, but I have read Advanced 80386 Programming Techniques) but I am seeing less and less of a need to code ASM, anyways. Most optimizations I have found are procedural level anyways, and the gain through ASM while substantial seems at least slightly unneccesary. But then, I've seen 3D engines coded in QuickBASIC... > Recommendation: Learn assembly and grab allegro. :) I agree though. = Calvin = -------------------------------------------------------------------- B013CD10B7A08EC3B2C8B940018BC133C2AAE2F9FECA75F2B407CD21B80300CD10C3 -------------------------------------------------------------------- -- I apologuise, Shaun began, but I would rather spinooze you one from the grimm gests of Jacko and Esaup, fable one, feeble too.
