I've ported most of the GUS SDK 2.22 into DJGPP. Check out
http://www.niksula.cs.hut.fi/~tparvine/djgus.

As mentioned, the package isn't complete yet, the main bug being in the
IRQ handling stuff.

At the moment GUS Max extensions aren't supported and so far I haven't
found what's wrong with the IRQ stuff. See more on this on the web page. 

I'd appreciate any feedback. Especially on the IRQ thingies. The IRQ
wrapper stuff has been stolen from Allegro, but it doesn't seem to work.
Even people who don't own a GUS might be able to say something about the
IRQ stuff.
