Be careful with statements like this; it is not strictly true, and will
actually get you in trouble in some cases.  Arrays and pointers are similar
in that you can apply the subscription operator [] an array or a pointer and
they will behave similarly, provided the pointer is pointing to the first
element of the array.  There are difference between the two other than that,
though.
