I don't have any attitude, unless wanting to improve DJGPP can be called ``attitude''. Sorry, I thought I made myself clear enough, and in small words, but I will rephrase. The problem with compiling Allegro appeared as result of upgrading DJGPP to Binutils 2.7, where the assembler is less tolerant to operand/instruction mismatches. The fix to Allegro is trivial, but we are out of luck because its author isn't available. I think it's a shame that such a simple problem doesn't get solved, especially since it bugs so many people (Allegro is a very popular package). So I've asked for a volunteer to make this simple patch and submit it to DJ Delorie so that Allegro distribution on SimTel could be updated. If nobody can invest that much in improving DJGPP (rather than having the flood of questions about this same problem), then that's too bad, but so be it.
