It is interesting that you ask this question. There is a very good port of CVS supported by cyclic that runs in Win32 environments. It requires a CVS server, but has the advantages of a single executable and complete support for CVS features via the 'cvs' program interface. I ported CVS 1.5 to DOS some time back and have been using it. It is hosted by DJGPP v2.0, but does not support long filenames. It requires the RCS port I did. You can try out my version by downloading if from netcom. ftp://ftp.netcom.com/pub/el/elf/cvsdos I am NOT supporting this port because I have been unable to apply my patches to CVS 1.8. Still, I've been using it for over a year without trouble. What I'm working on now is a front-end to CVS that (I hope) will encourage users of that dreadful MS product SourceSlayer to switch. It is a screen-oriented UI that provides some nice features not seen before in version control. I'll post when I have an alpha version running. This is not too far out, now, but I want to flush out some things like signals before I publish. -- Marc Singer
