Out of curiosity, does this problem admit of any potential solution? In the meantime, I'm taking the obvious measure of alternating between CWSDPMI and QDPMI depending on whether I see a need for more than 7600K of free DPMI RAM and 976K of DPMI swap space -- the latter, of course, being what CWSDPMI provides in amounts up to 128M. Well, it's fortunate that both DPMI servers can be loaded and unloaded from a batch file, and that CWSDPMI can loadhi with QEMM. Of course, if the conflict could somehow be solved, then I would likely run CWSDPMI all the time. It's a fine contribution to djgpp. Margo Schulter
