Mixing compilers is like mixing ammonia and bleach - it makes your
computer go boom!  Get RID of your v1 installation and reinstall v2!
The 'readme.1st' file from the v2 distribution explicitly tells you to
delete or move v1 before installing v2, and the FAQ explicitly states
that you can't mix programs from v1 and v2.
