I am a brand new to game programming and graphics.  Can anyone give me
some pointers to information that can get me started.  

I pick up things very fast so don't worry about giving me something that
may go over my head.  As long as it starts with the basics, I will get
it.  It can be a book, web site, sample programs, FAQs, or any combo of
whatever.

I would greatly appreciate it.
