The reason my program had been crashing with a page fault is that my serial port interrupt handler writes data to a buffer at an address that is passed to it by C. I simply locked this buffer with __dpmi_lock_linear_region() and my problem cleared right up. I believe that if had used this program as part of a larger program, as it was before I fixed it, it would have crashed under any dpmi when paging occurred. It is actually good that CWSDPMI spotted this for me before I had a huge program built with it and had no idea what was causing the page faults. I have attached the corrected files for anyone interested.
