Be sure to read section 17.2 of the DJGPP FAQ list (v2/faq200b.zip from
the same place you get DJGPP).  It warns you about some *real* bugs in the
GNU Assembler and tells you how to avoid them.  This will save you some
grief once you get past the initial culture shock and correct the errors 
that DJ pointed out.
