CHKDSK was the only way could remove it. Worth a shot. Thanks, Also, if you have emacs, the emacs dired function can delete anything. Just run M-x dired, place the point on the lines containing the files/directories you want to purge, type 'd' for each, then type 'x' to expunge the marked files. -- Art S.
