I used VESADRV coming within LIBGRX package. It works fine using my old
VGA card. Now I have a Matrox Millenium MGA card, a VESA 2 
compliant card. It works well in all resolution and colour numbers. 

Only in 800 x 600 x 256 it *NOT* works! 

Can anyone help me?
