    I'm new to djgpp, but I've considered myself somewhat computer literate
   until I started reading some of the stuff included with the package.  What
   is this DPMI? From what I gather, it's something to do with graphics on your
   terminal.  I'd sure like to understand more.  I don't expect anyone to give
   me a mini tutorial here.
   Is there somewhere I can grab more info on this?

DPMI is a standard for switching between real mode and protected mode on 386
class processors, providing virtual memory, and for accessing DOS services from
the real mode OS (ie a standard for DOS Extenders).  DJGPP V2 requires a DPMI
server.
