Subject: Slow compilation.

I have crawlingly slow compilation using djgcc 2.4.1 on a
386 w/ 8M.  It swaps heavily to disk, so I wonder if I
have missed a setting.
  I have seen it suggested that disk caches are a problem,
but I only use fastopen.  I do have the software on C: and
the source on D:, but doubt this is a problem.

Please email responses, of location of a FAQ dealing with the
problem.  Thanks for your replies.
