I have captured straces for the test case of: $ bash --login $ id when the window disappears and when it doesn't. I haven't started to slog through the 1.3 MB strace logs yet. I have noticed that bash is echoing "logout" right before it disappears so I think that it is getting tricked into seeing EOF. I'm having that deja vu feeling again... I plan on getting back to this after I push out new distributions for PostgreSQL and Python. Jason
