This problem is caused by Kazuhiro Fujieda's Win9x daemon patch: http://www.cygwin.com/ml/cygwin-patches/2001-q3/msg00010.html Specifically, when I back out the following portion: http://sources.redhat.com/cgi-bin/cvsweb.cgi/winsup/cygwin/syscalls.cc.diff?cvsroot=uberbaum&r1=1.129&r2=1.130 then rxvt no longer pops up a console window. Unfortunately, I currently do not know how to fix the rxvt issue without breaking (or at least affecting) Kazuhiro's patch. Any ideas? Thanks, Jason
