Damn. I forgot about symlinks. We have to use a cygwin version of tar if we want to use symlinks. I'd rather not limit the installation right now. I withdraw my request. It is amazing that you've managed to get everything working with glibc 2.1. Somehow I doubt that you'll be able to convince Ulrich to incorporate any changes for this into the main sources though. :-) cgf
