It appears that your changes have fixed the problem. I don't know whether this problem occurs only under Windows 98. I have been unable to run my test program under any other operating systems. I have still been getting messages like: Couldn't decommit stack memory 0xE5E0000(33583104) for read of /dev/conin, err 0 They seem to be displayed with (almost) every keypress, after the first 20-30 keystrokes. Anyways, I'm happy to see this signal handling problem bite the dust.
